Your device displays a recovery phrase during setup. Record it offline, in order, and keep it somewhere private and secure.

Install Ledger Wallet
Download Ledger Wallet (formerly Ledger Live) from Ledger’s official site. Connect your device and follow the app’s guided checks.
Find the official appAlready have a recovery phrase? Only choose a restore/recovery flow if you’re restoring an existing wallet. Never enter an existing phrase into a website or computer app.

Anyone with your recovery phrase may be able to access your assets. Ledger support will never ask you to share it—not by email, phone, chat, or a website.

Where should I enter my recovery phrase?
During initial setup, your new recovery phrase is generated and shown on the Ledger device screen. Do not enter it into a computer, phone app, website, or share it with anyone. If restoring a wallet, follow the instructions displayed on the device itself.
What if I lose my PIN?
Do not guess repeatedly or follow unsolicited recovery instructions. Check the current official Ledger support documentation for your exact device and situation. Your recovery phrase is sensitive and should never be given to support.
